Hand quilting

 

I have started to hand quilt Sonya's quilt some areas are with coton perle in various colours and some areas are with gutterman thread in white.

Here is my progress on my daughters quilt so far. I am not sure if I want to add more on the side white borders or just leave it for a quilting design. I tried to have it very scrappy and picked fabrics I liked at the time of making each hexagon. Sometimes bright, sometimes dark,

I will be hand quilting this quilt.

Still stitching these hexies for Sonya's quilt. I decided to add some blocks on the sides and top of the quilt. Its completely scrappy with white backround.

I made these blocks whilst I found some time. I plan to add them to a sampler. These were made using jelly roll strips. Meanwhile I got backing fabric for the quilt top I have ready, It is the one with hexagons for my daughter Sonya. But our new house doesnt have the space to baste it. I will try shortly to use the local library or hobby shop. Ideally it would be great to finish it for my daughter soon as she has been asking for it...... I also have my youngests daughter foundation pieced quilt but I think I want to add more borders. And ofcourse there are other quilt projects I also want to try...lol....
